Entries in Search Tools
A name, place, or other term entered in a sponsored search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Roseau County Released Inmates does not keep or log those query terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms govern its receipt and use of that entry.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email or send a contact message, we retain the details needed to read and answer it. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Routine Technical Details
Normal web systems may record technical information when a page loads. That information can include:
- the internet protocol address used for the visit;
- browser name and version;
- device class and operating system;
- pages viewed and the time spent on them;
- the referring website, when one is supplied; and
- the date and time of each request.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and may support advertising or other features. Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or removed. Some functions may work differently when that storage is disabled.
Reasons We Use Data
Collected information is used only for ordinary site and service needs, including the following functions:
- operating the site and maintaining its performance;
- sending sponsored search entries to the correct partner;
- understanding which pages visitors find useful;
- detecting and repairing technical faults; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links may lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record resources, government portals, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one of those links, the destination's privacy policy applies. Roseau County Released Inmates does not control the destination's collection practices.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the partner's technology, not a visitor profile maintained by this site.
When Data Is Shared
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be handled by:
- search partners that receive sponsored-tool queries;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver ads; and
- law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No internet-connected service can promise complete security, however. We cannot guarantee that a system or transmission will never be breached.

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contacts page to request its deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the information actually held, a person may ask us to:
- provide a copy of personal data we maintain;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- erase information that no longer must be kept; or
- honor an available choice to opt out of certain processing.
